In a Press release issued in Bengaluru on Thursday the media adviser to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has written to the cyber crime police seeking action against those creating fake twitter accounts in the name of the Chief Minister.

In a letter to Superintendent of Police of Cyber Crime (Bengaluru), Dinesh Amin Mattu, who is Media Adviser to the Chief Minister, has sought immediate action against those creating fake twitter accounts and posting tweets that are causing confusion. “Chief Minister's fake twitter accounts have been created, initially ‘CmofKarnataka’ account was created and several posts were tweeted before deleting it.

Again another fake account ‘CMoKarnataka’ has been created in which fake and confusing tweets in the name of the Chief Minister are being posted," the letter said.

Stating that he has enclosed few such fake tweets along with the letter, Mattu sought immediate action against them.

The official page of the Chief Minister of Karnataka “@CMofKarnataka” is a verified twitter account.

Siddaramaiah who is using social media to reach out to the vast public in the IT city Bengaluru has been using twitter and facebook. He has also used radio like that of Prime Minister Modi to address the public in a few occasions.  He has also used FM radio to propagate himself as the mass leader was also criticised by the opposition parties.

Jingles on FM radio stations and large hoardings across the city projected him as the sole leader of the party, leaving out other leaders in the party also has given rise to stiff resistance within.  For congress it is crucial to retain the power in Karnataka in the ensuing Assembly polls in 2018.
