A shopkeeper was arrested for raping a seven-year-old girl in the Harsh Vihar, Northeast Delhi. A senior police official of Northeast district said that the girl was playing near her house at around 1.30 pm Monday when she was lured by the 27 year old accused who runs a paan-bidi shop in the area.
He picked up the girl on the pretext of giving her chocolate and allegedly took her inside the shop, gagged her mouth and raped her. The accused reportedly gave her a note of Rs 10 to pacify her. The girl, however, narrated the horrendous incident to her mother. The residents later thrashed the accused and he was found in an unconcious state when the police arrived.
