Former party MP and senior JD(U) leader Shivanand Tiwari has fired yet another stinger at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar calling his fight against Narendra Modi a doubtful exercise aimed at shining his political image. Nitish Kumar had recently refused to re-nominate Tiwari as party’s candidate for Rajya Sabha.
“I was attacking Narendra Modi but all of a sudden I was removed from the post of party national spokesperson and general secretary...I’ve serious doubt that there is any honesty in Nitish Kumar’s fight against Narendra Modi,” charged Tiwari in his fresh salvo adding that Kumar was doing all this ‘to shine his public image’.
Earlier, Tiwari had called Kumar as an ‘arrogant’ leader who didn’t like anyone to say anything against him. After he was being dropped from the party list of Rajya Sabha nominees along with two other leaders Sabir Ali and NK Singh. Targeting Kumar, senior JD(U) leader Tiwari had earlier shot off two stingers against Nitish and State party chief Basistha Narayan Singh. While reacting over his pointed stingers Kumar had only said that it was all in his fortune…he has been hearing this for long”.
“Yehi meri niyati hai…pehle bhi sunte rahein hain aur agey bhi sunege”, said Kumar while talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of his weekly janata durbar on last Monday. “It’s his old habit as whenever Nitish Kumar gets himself in trouble he tries his best to save his skin in the name of niyati (fortune)...I just fail to understand how a strongman who has had held some top political posts can safeguard himself in the name of niyati,” Tiwari has expressed wonder in his letter.
Tiwari has also raised points that when Kumar had cancelled his dinner for all the BJP leaders in Patna, it was the opportune moment to part ways with the BJP. “I’d suggested Nitish Kumar to part ways with the BJP on that moment but I just fail to understand why didn’t he listen to me then,” he said.
