Apparently angry over Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani’s allegations on his involvement in the violence against Hindi-speaking migrant labourers, Congress Bihar in charge Shaktisinh Gohil has threatened to file criminal and civil suits against Rupani if he does not apologise.
CM Rupani had made the remarks during his recent visit to Lucknow where he went to invite his counterpart from Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath for the inauguration ceremony of Statue of unity project.
At a Press conference on Tuesday Gohil claimed that the BJP backed hooligans were responsible for attacks on migrant workers. He went on to say that BJP supporters spread anti-migrant messages on social media platforms. “I was in Bihar when violence broke out against migrants. As soon as I came to know about such incidents I immediately appealed people to maintain peace and harmony in Gujarat. Besides I also demanded to take action against attackers,” he added.
Sharing social media profiles of some alleged BJP supporters with their anti-outsider posts to bolster his allegation the senior Congress leader claimed that BJP systematically orchestrated violence against migrants.
Gohil said that a day after the gruesome rape, BJP MLA from Himmatnagar, Rajendra Chavda spoke to people and exhorted BJP workers to drive away North Indians who came in Gujarat for employment.
The ruling BJP's politics of division in the name of caste, religion, region and community is well known, he alleged adding that despite the party got maximum seats from Hindi belt consisting Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhatisgarh and Rajasthan, BJP is targeting the people of these states.
Criticising NRC in Assam Gohil said that BJP was targeting innocent vulnerable people. In Shilong people belonging to Punjab were targeted only after BJP came in power there. He has also demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention and apology in the issue of attacks on migrantsin Gujarat.
