As part of an outreach programme undertaken by his party ahead of the 2019 lok Sabha polls, BJP’s national president Amit Shah on Wednesday met two opinion makers from India Inc and Bollywood, Ratan Tata, and Madhuri Dixit, respectively.
Shah, who was on a day-visit to the city as part of Sampark for Samarthan’, interacted with industrialist and former Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata and Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit-Nene and her doctor-husband Dr Sriram Nene.
During his separate interactions, Shah appraised Madhuri and Tata of the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team during the last four years and their vision for India.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was present at both the meetings.
Shah, who was also scheduled to meet melody queen BharatRatna lata Mangeshkar, could not do so as she was not keeping well. “I was to meet Amit Shah ji but since I am down because of food poisoning I spoke to him over phone and told him that next time when he comes to Mumbai I would meet him,” Mangeshkar tweeted.
Shah’s meetings with Madhuri and Tata were part of a major exercise to reach out to different segments of the society.
Fadnavis tweeted photographs of Shah’s meetings with Madhuri Dixit Nene and Ratan Tata.
“As always, it was inspiring to meet Shri Ratan Tata ji with Mananiya @AmitShah ji as a part of @BJP4India ‘Sampark For Samarthan’ Abhiyan ! We also presented him a book on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on auspicious #shivrajyabhishek din! @RNTata2000 #SamparkForSamarthan,” he tweeted.
