In wake of the upcoming local bodies’ elections in Gujarat, BJP national president Amit Shah on Friday launched the ‘Maha Sampark Abhiyan’.
As part of the Mass Contact Campaign named as Maha Sampark Abhiyan, hundreds of BJP workers would roam around across the State and meet 1.2 crore new members enrolled in a membership drive.
Apart from six Municipal Corporations elections of over 300 local bodies including municipalities, district panchayat and taluka Panchayats are due in October this year.
“The mass contact campaign is the part of a nationwide drive to personally contact over 10 crore new members enrolled using information technology in the past six months,” said a senior BJP leader in Gujarat.
Once the party cadres have contacted, collected complete bio-data and screened the new members properly, the next step is to train the newcomers of the party’s ideologies, its policies and programmes, said Shah while launching the campaign, who is on a three day tour of Gujarat.
