BJP president Amit Shah has asked the Bengal party leaders to work on both organisational and ideological planes to achieve success in the 2016 State Assembly elections.

Shah reportedly told the Bengal leaders, who met him in Delhi, to divide the State into six-eight zones and put each zone in-charge of a leader who shall work in that area and send reports in regular intervals on the development of party’s organisational nework accordingly. Shah, who is likely to come to Bengal by August-end or September beginning also asked the State leaders to work both on organisational and ideological planes. He has also asked the State leadership to organise booth-level committees to monitor the organisation and work on the issues.

“Our party president is keenly watching the party’s progress in Bengal and he is likely to come to our State may be in the end of August or early September,” Bengal BJP president Rahul Sinha said. “He has said that he will give sufficient time to Bengal and has also given us specific guidelines,” party MP and its observer for Bengal Siddharthnath Singh said adding “he will again meet the leaders from Bengal.”

Shah on Tuesday received the report on recent attacks on the BJP men and the murder of a party worker at Suri in Birbhum district. The report was prepared by a BJP delegation led by Balbir Punj, Kirti Azad, Rahul Sinha, Sidharthnath Singh and Rashid Ansari.

The BJP delegation that visited Birbhum after a party worker Sk Rahim was murdered by Trinamool Congress goons alleged in the report that the minorities of the State were living under constant threat and insecurity. It has also recommended that the Union Home Ministry should seek report from the State on the recent deterioration of law and order.

The delegation has also appealed to the party leadership to seek intervention of the National Minorities Commission in the matter besides asking the party’s human rights cell to keep an eye on such incidents.

The report claimed that the people of Bengal who had replaced the 34-year left rule with the one led by Mamata Banerjee were fed up with the misrule that the new Government had provided. This was because the CPI(M) goons had all joined the Trinamool and holding the Government and the people to ransom.

It also said that Banerjee was feeling “insecured” at the meteoric rise of the BJP whose vote share has gone up from six per cent to 17 per cent leading the Trinamool men to mount attacks on the saffron supporters.
