Shah confident of BJP win in Guj

Reiterating the saffron party’s victory in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly polls in 2017, BJP national president Amit Shah on Friday evening said that the ruling party would win the election with comfortable margin.

Training his guns on the opposition Congress party, Shah said that the grand old party was day-dreaming to come on power but Congress leaders’ dream would never be fulfilled. Not only in Gujarat, but BJP would remain in power in Centre too. In wake of Narendra Modi Government’s achievements in the first couple of years, he said the Modi Government would continue to do good work in the coming years too. During the Congress rule Gujarat experienced turmoil as half of the year curfew used to be imposed in major cities while in the past one and half decade under BJP, harmony and peace prevailed, he added.

Shah was speaking at the felicitation ceremony of the newly appointed Gujarat BJP president Jeetu Vagahani at the party’s sprawling State headquarters – Shri Kamalam in the outskirts of Gujarat’s capital Gandhinagar. Without mentioning the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s political outfit Aam Adami Party (AAP), he said that formation of any other Government was not possible in the State.

The way Gujarat laid the foundation for the victory of BJP in 2014 lok Sabha polls under the leadership of Narendrabhai in 2012, the ruling party poised to repeat the history by winning 2017 Assembly polls in Gujarat to secure 2019 lok Sabha elections, said the BJP chief.

“Since 2001 Gujarat has set an example of development under the leadership of Narendra Modi. later on it is continued by his successors Anandiben and now Vijay Rupani,” he said, informing the party workers that Prime Minister Modi would inaugurate first link of Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation (SAUNI) project on August 30, which would be beneficial for the people of Saurashtra region.

Ever since BJP came in power in 1990 (in Gujarat), gradually Congress’ foothold has been reducing in the State and across the country, he claimed, adding that now it would wipe out. “As of now BJP rules in almost 15 States across the country. The party has more than 1000 MlAs in different States. Once upon a time it had mere 25 MlAs. However, over the past three decades, the party has grown up considerably and now it has 300 MPs in parliament.
