Shah asks BJP cadre to counter Opp's canards over land Bill

Under attack from  Opposition parties for making amendments in the land Acquisition Act, BJP president Amit Shah on Monday sought support from his party cadres to counter their “disinformation and falsehood.” Addressing party members at a function to mark the BJP’s Foundation Day, Shah asked them to reach out to the masses and educate them about the NDA Government’s policies and schemes.

“If the Opposition tries to spread disinformation, then it is the responsibility of all the party workers to tell the truth to the people,” Shah said and expressed that this would help the party when it seeks another term. “I am confident that when we seek mandate for another term under Narendra Modi, we will get even a better one,” the BJP president said.  Meanwhile, on the day when BJP completed 35 years of its existence, Shah hoped that the party’s next 35 years would be even more glorious than the past.

He asked partymen not to pursue “career-oriented” thoughts saying success and position will follow hard work. “You should keep working hard and success and position will follow. We are fortunate to have a leadership tradition of making sacrifices and nothing else,” Shah said. Taking a dig at the AAP for “marketing” the common man Shah said: “Today some people talk of simplicity and about being an ‘aam aadmi’ (common man). We had such leaders who never had a bank account all their life, never had a home of their own and made the party office their home, had no family but made the entire nation their family… leaders of my party never indulged in marketing sacrifice. It is not something which should be marketed. Sacrifice is not an issue that can be encashed. Sacrifice is a way to resolve issues confronting nations. BJP workers should never try to encash sacrifices,” Shah said.

The BJP chief cited the example of Narendra Modi, who has risen from being a tea seller to the Prime Minister and added he himself came all this way to become the BJP president after starting out as an ordinary booth-level worker. Several Union Ministers including Venkaiah Naidu, Thawarchand Gehlot, Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP general secretaries Ram lal and Bhupinder Yadav, besides senior leader VK Malhotra were present.
