Even as the Uttarakhand Government’s website dms.uk.gov.in/searchingengine.aspx claims to have rescued seven people, all residents of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, from disaster-hit areas in Rudraprayag and Chamoli to Jolly Grant and Dehradun, they are still missing. Desperate to know the whereabouts of their rescued missing kin, a group of three youths, who visited disaster-relief control room at DMMC in Secretariat, Rishikesh, Hospital near Jolly Grant, Haridwar, and a private hospital on Mussoorie road, failed to find any clue from the two control rooms.
A ray of hope flashed in the eyes of the youths when they visited the Uttarakhand Government website after one of their friends apprised them of it being equipped with the facility to track the rescued persons. Shekhar Patidar and Sohan lal Patidar visited the site http://dms.uk.gov.in/searchingengine.aspx whereon track rescued person (TRP) shows their mothers as rescued.
With the hope that they would get some concrete information about their mothers and five others from the village, they arrived in the city two days ago. The youths on Wednesday visited the disaster-relief control room and called on officials there. The youths didn’t get any satisfactory answer about the location of the seven rescued persons. Their efforts, however, failed to get any desired results to the duo.
Patidar said, “Strangely, they don’t have any idea. It showed how seriously Government officials prepared the list of the rescued persons. A visit to the track rescued person segment at the Government’s website sparked a ray of hope as the tracker showed them as rescued.” He also took printouts. Holding the prints, he along with his friends reached the city two days ago. His ordeal began here as he claimed that instead of giving any concrete information, the officials at the disaster-control rooms were not helping them. They merely suggested that they visit some locations and hospitals.
“TRP segment shows Vishnu Bai, Ayodhya Bai, both residents of Ujjain, rescued from Rudraprayag via Ghansali. Similarly, Rajesh, resident of the same district, is also shown as rescued from the same place via Ghansali,” Patidar said, adding that TRP showed his mother Narmada Bai’s location at Hotel Himshikhar Guest House, Chamoli.
