A senior BJP leader and his brother were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Kishtwar late Thursday evening.
Following tension in the area, curfew was imposed by the district administration to control unrest in the area.
Angry supporters and local residents converged outside district hospital and police station where they pelted stones and shouted provocative slogans.
The deceased BJP leader was identified as Anil Parihar, State secretary, and his brother Ajit Parihar.
The duo were returning home on foot when they were targeted by two gunmen from a very close range near their house.
