The son of a senior IAS officer of Telangana was shot dead by the armed robbers in Istanbul.
According to the late reports the incident occurred on May 24 when Shubham Goel, a software engineer based in the USA had gone to Istanbul with another friend Shubhanahu on a holiday trip.
Shubham who was the son of Shashank Goel, Principal Secretary of Telangana State labour department had come to India on April 28 to attend wedding of a relative and during his visit he and his friend planned a holiday in Turkey.
According to the family sources when the armed robbers waylaid the two friends Shubhanshu, a resident of Noida handed over his cash and valuables to them but Shubham resisted. The robbers first stabbed him and then shot him. Shubham died on the spot.
On getting the news Shashank Goel left for Turkey and after completing the formalities in Istanbul returned with the body to India. last rites of Shubham were performed in his home town Rourkaila on Sunday.
Shubham a software engineer was working as deputy manager in Federal Bank of America in California.
