Swine flu has claimed the life of a senior police officer of Warangal district.
47 year old Durgaiah Yadav, assistant commissioner of police of Vardhannapet in Warangal district died In a hospital in Hyderabad.
Diegaiah, who was earlier treated at a private hospital in Hanmakonda was rushed to Hyderabad as his condition worsened.
He was put on ventilator but succumbed on Sunday.
Through several cases of swine flu were registered in Warangal district this is the first death caused by the disease.
Doctors at Yashoda Hospital said that he was brought very late, six days after the symptoms were noticed. Moreover he had uncontrolled diabetes, his kidney and lungs were badly affected.
Swine Flu is an airborne disease with symptoms of fever, cough and body pain.
