After facing criticism from the Chief Justice of India (CJI) over his unruly conduct in the Ayodhya case and the Delhi-l-G case, senior advocate Rajeev Dhavan has decide to quit legal practice and announced this by way of a letter sent directly to CJI.
A typed undated letter signed by Dhavan on his personal letterhead circulated in the social media on Monday which said, “Dear Chief Justice, after the humiliating end to the Delhi case, I have decided to give up court practice.” He further stated, “You (CJI) are entitled to take back the Senior Gown conferred on me.”
Hanging up his senior gown which he received in May 1994, Dhavan’s letter clearly spelt out that his decision was in reply to the CJI Dipak Misra's recent outburst in Court taking serious exception to the conduct of Dhavan as “atrocious” as he spoke in a raised voice when appearing for the Delhi Government.
