A delegation of senators from Mexico led by Senator Gabriela Cuevas, President of the Mexican Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee met Vice- President and Chairman of Rajya Sabha Hamid Ansari here on Tuesday.
They discussed developments in the bilateral relations between India and Mexico and underlined the need for increasing more parliamentary exchanges between the two countries.
The Mexican delegation also expressed keenness to harness the vast potential of bilateral relations in a range of areas such as science and technology, bio-technology, energy, education and culture. The delegation proposed that a photographic exhibition may be organised in honour of Nobel laureates Octavio Paz and Rabindranath Tagore in India and Mexico, respectively.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, V Maitreyan, Derek O’Brien, Shivanand Tiwari, Baishnab Parida and Bhalchandra Mungekar were present on the occasion.
