Sena blames BJP for current situation in J&K

Published on:

Castigating the Modi Government over its “double-speak” on its resolve to tackle terrorism, the Shiv Sena on Thursday charged that the BJP walked out of the PDP-led Government in Jammu & Kashmir  like the British quit India, after creating anarchy in the Valley State.

“The Modi Government had cited the need to crush terrorism as one of the objectives behind its demonetisation move. But, when it quit the Mehbooba Mufti Government in Jammu & Kashmir, the BJP is pointing its fingers at the PDP for failure to tackle acts of terrorism, while abdicating its own responsibility....,” the Sena stated, as it slammed the BJP for its “double-speak” over its commitment to tackle terrorism emanating from across the border.

In an editorial published in its official mouth-piece “Saamana”, the Sena stated: “(During the course of the BJP-PDP Government), there has been a spurt in acts of terrorism in Kashmir by thousand folds. There has been an increase in infiltration of terrorists from Pakistan. Even the terror attacks have been on the rise. Indian soldiers are lying down their lives even without a war”.

“After failing to curb increasing terror acts and finding it difficult to administer the state,  the BJP laid the entire blame Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s door. The BJP has walked out of the PDP Government like the British quit India. Do Modi or his bhakts have any plan to save KashmirIJ” the Sena asked.

Holding the BJP squarely responsible for the situation in Jammu & Kashmir,  Modi said: “The BJP has walked out of the  Mehbooba Mufti Government by creating anarchy In the Kashmir Valley. The situation had never in the past worsened in the Valley State as much it is now. Never had we seen so much of blood-letting in that State. Never have so many Indian soldiers have died.  It is under the BJP regime that the situation in Kashmir has turned dangerous”.

Dubbing as “foolish” the BJP’s decision to form a government in Jammu and Kashmir in alliance with the PDP, the Sena editorial stated: “The BJP’s decision to team up with the PDP to form a government in the valley state was foolish and it stemmed out of its superfluous bravado that it was conquering an important state like Jammu and Kashmir . The BJP felt it was unbeatable and it would complete its journey of victory across the country unhindered. But, the country, Indian Army and the people of Kashmir are paying  a heavy price for the BJP’s blunder vis-a-vis the valley state ”.

Among other things, the Sena demanded to know from the BJP as to what happened to the “language of 56-inch chest” used by the Prime Minister to deal with the issues of Jammu and Kashmir.  “What happened to the BJP’s promise of bringing back to the valley state all the migrated Kashmir panditsIJ.... What happened to the BJP’s 2014 poll promise of scrapping Article 370 of Constitution that gives special status to Jammu and KashmirIJ,” the Sena asked.
