Dubbing the killing of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims by terrorists as an “attack” on the NDA Government at the Centre, the Shiv Sena on Tuesday reminded Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the 10-point action plan to counter terrorism unveiled by him at the recent G20 summit and advised him to “avenge” Monday’s attack on “innocent” pilgrims.
Hours after Shiv Sena’s spokesperson Sanjay Raut charged that the surgical strikes and demonetisation had not at all altered the situation in the State where terrorist activities were continuing as before, Sena president Uddhav Thackeray slammed the Narenda Modi Government for its failure to check the recurring acts of terrorism in the Valley.
Alluding to the overwhelming appreciation that the Prime Minister received at the G20 summit from world leaders for his 10-point action plan to counter terrorism, Uddhav said: “In the past, when the Congress Government was at the Centre, the Amarnath Yatras would pass off peacefully. But, it is said that with Hindutvadi Government at the Centre, we have witnessed an attack on the Amarnath Yatra pilgrims”.
Uddhav also dared the “self-styled” Gau Rakshaks” who were currently creating a havoc across the country to take on the terrorists operating in Jammu & Kashmir.
Earlier, the Sena spokesperson said that the terrorists had, through their attack on a bus carrying Amarnath yatra piligrams, had targeted Modi. “ The surgical strike and the demonetisation decision have had no impact on the terrorists. The attack on Amarnath yatra pilgrims is an attack on the Modi Government at the Centre. We do not want any debate. We want the Government to avenge the attack. Both the BJP-led Government at the Centre and the Mehbooba Mufti Government in the state should display their strength and act against terrorists firmly,” Raut said.
