A few days after Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Jayadev Jena alleged that some party leaders were campaigning against their own party candidates during the recently concluded polls, Union Minister and State campaign committee chief Srikant Jena on Monday too alleged that secret pujas were conducted in Guwahati for his defeat.
“I came to know that people have performed secret puja to ensure my defeat,” said Jena, adding that he was trying to know who the people were. Clarifying the allegations that he confined himself to his own constituency despite being the campaign committee chief, Jena said.
“Since I was nominated as a party candidate for the Baleswar constituency, I did not get time to campaign for others. I informed the party general secretary about my inability to campaign for others.” last week, Cong candidate for Sukinda constituency Sarat Rout had alleged that a Ex PCC president had tried hard to ensure defeat of incumbent PCC chief Jena.
