\In the alleged case of the principal of a Kendriya Vidalaya (KV) at Hathibadkula Anshumbh Sharma harassing a 15-year-old girl, the chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) Usha Negi has written to the director general of police (DGP) to transfer the case to Dehradun.
As per the SCPCR sources, the 15-year-old girl Vatsala Nautiyal, a native from Joshimath Chamoli had been sent to the principal with a request that he would ensure that the girl would receive good education in Dehradun. But despite being given admission in a school, she was allegedly forced to do household chores by the principal. As per the statement given by the girl, the principal used to scold and even beat her up very often while keeping her deprived of every facility needed for a decent life.
When the parents of the girl had come to learn about her ordeal they had filed an FIR at a police station at Joshimath in Chamoli district. Acting on the complaint, police had taken the statement of the girl, but thereafter things have not progressed much.
While expressing concern over the slow progress of the case, the chairperson SCPCR has written a letter to the DGP, seeking transfer of the case to Dehradun as the accused who is currently working as the principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC is in Dehradun.
Providing more details, a SCPCR functionary said, "The case has seen no progress after the statement of the girl was taken. Taking note of it, we have requested the DGP to transfer the case to Dehradun under zero FIR.
