The Kailash Satyarthi Children Foundation will launch campaign for the uplift of 100 million deprived children, said Noble laureate Kailash Satyarthi.

The Nobel laureate said this in Guwahati on Monday while delivering the 117th Pandit Krishna Kanta Handiqui Memorial lecture even as he appealed to the hundreds of thousands of youth of the country to be a part of his campaign.

“I appeal to at least 100 youths here too to join the campaign and the global voice to protect children from exploitation, provide them shelter, education and a chance to dream. Twenty years ago, the world had 20 crore child labour and now the number has come down to 17 crore and this became possible because of involvement of the civil society in our fight against the crime and exploitation of children,” said Satyarthi.
