Sasikala Pushpa, the controversial MP belonging to the AIADMK and her husband lingeswara Thilagan got separated by a court order on March 16, 2018. The 24-year long nuptial life got terminated by an order issued by B R Kedia, Princpal Judge, Family Courts, South West District, Dwarka, New Delhi.
“The marriage between both the petitioners namely Ms Sasikala Pushpa and lingeswara Thilagan is dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent with effect from today ie on 16.03.2018. The parties are left to beat their on costs,” said the Judge in his order.
Interestingly, the Rajya Sabha member from Tamil Nadu is getting married to B Ramaswamy, who claims to be legal advisor to members of parliament. The wedding is scheduled to be held on March 26, 2018 at the lalit in New Delhi. Delhites will get to see the marriage of a parliament member from South India.
Sasikala Pushpa has been described as the “glamour girl” of the AIADMK and shot into prominence with the “slap gate” involving herself and another MP from Tamil Nadu. It was reported that she slapped a DMK MP while they were about to board a flight to Chennai from New Delhi airport.
later, Sasikala Pushpa alleged that she was summoned to Veda Nilayam by Jayalalithaa, the then supremo of the AIADMK and forced her to sign a letter of resignation from the Rajya Sabha. Sasikala Pushpa (42) had a meteoric rise in the AIADMK, from an ordinary activist she was catapulted to the position of the mayor of Thoothukudi and then to the Rajya Sabha.
Though Sasikala Pushpa was expelled from the party by Jayalalithaa herself “for bringing bad reputation,” of late she is being seen in the company of TTV dhinakaran, the rebel AIADMK leader who recently launched AMMK with the intention to retrieve the AIADMK from the Edappadi Palaniswamy-Panneerselvam duo. Sasikala Pushpa’s presence during the launch of the AMMK added glamour and glitter to the function held at Melur in Madurai on March 15.
