Sasikala, Dinakaran against ADMK-BJP ties: Sampath

Published on:

VK Sasikala, the jailed general secretary of the AIADMK and her nephew TTV Dinakaran, the deputy general secretary of the party are against any kind of alliance with the BJP. This was revealed on Sunday by Nanjil Sampath, a spokesperson of the AIADMK (Amma) faction headed by Sasikala.

Nanjil Sampath is described as the ears, eyes and loud speaker of the Sasikala-Natarajan duo.

“The AIADMK should never have any kind of alliance with the communal BJP. See what is happening in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. A Chief Minister insists that all people in the State should follow his style of haircut. A member of the legislative Assembly slaps a woman police  officer. Should I explain furtherIJ” asked Sampath while speaking to a TV news channel.

It may be recalled that Sampath had warned the AIADMK Government that 87 of the 122 AIADMK MlAs were with Dinakaran when it was announced by the AIADMK (Amma) that they would keep the aunt-nephew duo from the party’s leadership.

The announcement by Sampath has enlivened the political scenario being evolved for the upcoming Presidential election. If the AIADMK decides to vote against the BJP’s candidate in the Presidential election scheduled for July, it would have national ramifications.

Sampath’s outburst against any kind of alliance with the Hindutva party came even

as Edappadi K Palaniswami, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, was sharing a dais with M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting who is also

the BJP strongman from

south India in a function

held in Chennai on Sunday

to dedicate to the nation a stretch of the Chennai Metro Rail, an infrastructure expected to give a facelift to the metropolis.

While Palaniswami was complimenting the Centre for the timely help extended to the State Government to execute the Metro Rail project and Venkaiah Naidu in his felicitation speech reminded the people about the warm relation he had with late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, the AIADMK propaganda man Sampath parroted the words believed to have been taught by aunt Sasikala, who is serving a four-year jail term at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bangalore in the Disproportionate Asset case. Dinakaran is in Tihar Jail in connection with the criminal case registered against him for his attempt to bribe the Election Commission of India officials in the party symbol case.

Sampath has been going around Tamil Nadu alleging that the BJP was responsible for Dinakaran’s imprisonment. “It is a conspiracy hatched at

New Delhi by the BJP. They want to destroy the AIADMK,” he had told reporters since the Delhi Police arrested Dinakaran last month.

Sampath was with Vaiko’s MDMK before he jumped fence and joined the AIADMK. Though he announced his resignation from the AIADMK immediately after the election of  Sasikala as general secretary of the party, he retracted and re-joined the party after a personal audience with Sasikala. Since then he has been  functioning as the ears, eyes and lounge of Sasikala.

Other than Sampath, the AIADMK MP Anwhar Raajhaa, representing Ramana-

thapuram Constituency too had blamed the BJP for the turmoil in the AIADMK. The imminent election to the local bodies in Tamil Nadu would see the realignment of various parties in the State.

While the CPI(M), the CPI, the VCK and Islamist outfits are all waiting for the green signal to join the DMK bandwagon, the moves to be made by the PMK, MDMK and DMDK are still not known. Dr Ramadoss, the medical doctor-turned-politician had made it clear that his outfit the PMK would never align either with the AIADMK or the DMK.
