Noted film actor Sanjay Dutt arrived here this morning along with his brother-in-law Kumar Gaurav in a private plane from Mumbai, to offer prayers at the renowned Pitambara peeth temple. Soon after his arrival at Guna, the star left along with Kumar and others by road for darshan of Devi Peeth in Datia district.
Dutt has been convicted in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case and has to surrender by April 21.
Although Sanjay’s visit was said to be a private one, a number of his fans gathered at the local airstrip to catch a glimpse of him. After offering prayers, Dutt and Gaurav left for Mumbai in the evening.
Official sources said the plane was unable to land in Gwalior or Jhansi as some training was being conducted there and the airstrip at Shivpuri was not considered safe. Hence, the landing at Guna.
