Offering to give ‘jadu ki jhappi’ to Bahujan Samaj Party chief, Mayawati proved costly for Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt as a Barabanki court issued summons asking him to appear in person by November 16.
While campaigning for Samajwadi Party in Tikaitnagar locality of Barabanki ahead of lok Sabha poll on April 19, 2009, Dutt offered to give the former UP CM a ‘jadu ki jhappi’. On the basis of the recording of the rally, the local administration registered a case against Sanjay Dutt with Masauli police station. However, no action was taken as the High Court stayed the matter.
