Right wing Hindu Sanatana Samstha has denied any role in the murder of journalist turned activist Gauri lankesh, who was brutally murdered in front of her house at the outskirts of IT city Bengaluru just fifteen days back.
As there is an allegation made by many Congress leaders including its vice president Rahul Gandhi and left wing intellectuals that the Hindu right wing extremists were involved in the murder of Gauri lankesh the all India spokesperson Ramesh Shinde of Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi a sister organisation of the Hindu Santhana Samstha has clarified and strongly denied any role in the murder of Journalist Gauri lankesh in Bengaluru. He also said they were ready for any probe by the SIT. In an interview to The Pioneer on Wednesday in Bengaluru he blamed ruling Congress Government in Karnataka and said "instead of blaming any one without a probe let them allow SIT to find out the killer."
He said that he had never heard the name of Gauri lankesh and her paper Gauri lankesh Patrike till her death, but only once Gauri had mentioned about them in an article regarding the killing of thinker MM Kalburgi. "I have never seen that paper or heard about Gauri lankesh. We don't believe in violence even though we differ from the ideology. The onus now is one Karnataka Government and the SIT to find out the killer," he added.
"The basic thing I want to clarify things about sad murder of journalist Gauri lankesh because many have brought our name in this case. Even media houses are writing about us. In previous cases also like Pansare and Dhabolkar our names has been linked but so far nothing has happened. Without any proof they are blaming us. You have a Congress Government and let them probe. It is a political vendetta and game they are blaming us," Ramesh added.
Ramesh Shinde further said "Ideological differences are there. It has been there from so many years. But it is only differences. It does not mean that we have to kill a person because of ideological differences. All the allegations are baseless and we want to make our stand clear that in no way we are involved." "I don't blame anyone until the SIT completes its probe", he added.
He denied any link with RSS and BJP. He said his organisation is an NGO promoting Hinduism across the country. This organisation is very much active in north Karnataka and also bring out a weekly in Kannada called Sanathana Prabhath.
So far the SIT which is probing the murder of Gauri lankesh has not revealed anything about the progress. In fact Karnataka Government had on September 6, announced a 21-member SIT to investigate the killing of Gauri lankesh, an incident which led to countrywide protests and condemnation across the political spectrum.
Gauri known to be an anti-establishment voice with strident anti-right wing views was shot dead at close range by unknown assailants outside her residence here on the night of September 5.
