Mystery behind firing by gangsters which killed two policemen and injured three others in Suryapet town of Nalgonda district has deepened as police suspect the involvement of the same gang in another incident of firing in Saroornagar area of Hyderabad injuring an astrologer on the same night. Police suspect that the armed gangsters might have fled from Hyderabad after opening fire at Nagaraju, an astrologer, and then fired at the police fearing their arrest.

In the case of Nagaraju, police suspect that it could be a fallout of an old enmity as Nagaraju was an accused in a case of murder. Telangana State Director General of Police Anurag Sharma told the media on Friday that same type of weapons were used in both the incidents of firing. “From the statements of the witnesses it is clear that the assailants were not local people. They were speaking Hindi and could be from Uttar Pradesh or Bihar”, he said.

17 special teams led by Inspector Generla Naveen Chand are investigating both the cases. Organisation for the Counter Terrorist O perations  is also involved in the probe. “We are confident that the culprits will be nabbed soon”, he said.
