Salman to tell his side of story today

A new act of the now-familiar real-life drama will unfold in the Mumbai trial court on Friday, when accused Bollywood actor Salman Khan steps into the dock and presents his side of the story on the 2002 hit-and-run incident, and also seeks to defend himself in the ongoing re-trial of the case.
Beginning Friday, the trial court — presided over by Judge DW Deshpande — will record his statement under section 313 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr PC) on the circumstances leading to the much-discussed hit-and-run incident and his version about his involvement or otherwise in the case.
After rejecting a plea by the actor seeking a three-week adjournment of the hearing in view of his purported pre-occupation with another ongoing trial in a Jodhpur court in the endangered black buck killing case, Judge had ordered Salman to remain present in the court for recording the statement in the 2002 hit-and-run case.
