A video went viral during the lock down at Muzaffarpur railway station in Bihar in which a 2-year-old innocent was trying to wake up her mother and was dragging the cloth from her dead body, his elder brother Armaan(4) and other family members were also seen standing nearby in the video.
To help these orphaned children, many including film actor Shah Rukh Khan, Tejashwi Yadav extended their hands, now Salma Ansari, wife of former Vice President Hamid Ansari, has taken up the responsibility of raising these children.
Salma Ansari, president of the Alnoor Charitable Society and founder of Chacha Nehru madarsa(school), said that during the lockdown when Alvina was coming from Ahmedabad to Muzaffarpur in Bihar, she died of sickness or hunger in the train. The body was kept at the station. The two and a half year old child was trying to wake his mother again and again. Its video also went viral on social media. Film actor Shah Rukh Khan asked to adopt the child but later gave Rs 2 lakh to the grandparents.
After 4 months the children are in bad condition.
She further said “ I was in grief after watching the video. Sharukh Khan, a minister and a MLA said about adopting the childre, but its been 4 months since then, and nobody adopted them. I talked to my teacher Mehmood about this and we somehow contacted the maternal grandparents of the children through one of our former student who lives there. Now we have adopted the children and will take care of their upbringing and education untill they become independent”.
The vice Principal of the school ,Alok Kumar and Mehboob Ali were then sent to the village Barsoi Maheshpur Katihar by Salma Ansari from where they brought the eldest son Armaan to be raised here. When the second child will turn 4, he will also be brought here .
Salma Ansari operates Chacha Nehru school in the Bhamola area of ??the city. There are 4000 children in the school. 46 of them live in hostels. Everyone is given free education. The Principal of the school, Mohammad Rashid, said that Madam (Salma Ansari) has taken care of the upbringing and education of both the children. They will be educated at Chacha Nehru School. Armaan has been brought to Aligarh. His younger brother Rehman is still with his maternal grandparents, when he grows up he will also be brought.
