Chief Election Commissioner of India VS Sampath on Thursday directed Deputy Commissioner Kulgam to immediately file status report in the complaint lodged by PDP against National Conference Minister Sakina Itoo.
Itoo was allegedly found threatening people to join her party and vote for it.The small clipping of the meeting had also gone viral on the social networking sites forcing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to target the PDP for trying to mislead the Election Commission of India.PDP alleged that “the party Minister and her associates are invoking the holy Quran and the affirmation of Muslim faith to seek the support of the people”.
The CEC has taken strong note of the issue and directed the DC to file his report latest by Thursday for necessary action.
