Punjab Congress on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Governor VP Singh Bandore to urge the Central Government to safeguard the interests of the SC/ST community in the country.
led by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Sunil Jakhar, the party’s deputation comprising Cabinet Ministers Tripit Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sadhu Singh Dharmsot, Aruna Chaudhary, besides party MlAs, accused the Narenddra Modi led NDA Government at the Centre of “deliberately avoiding pursuing the case of SC/ST in the Apex Court”.
“As the case has not been prosecuted properly, the spirit of the original Act got weakened and ultimately, this may make the law void,” said Jakhar while talking with the media.
