For the first time in the history of independent India, the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha, the apex decision making body consisting of all Hindu religious organisations, will ask the people of the country to elect a Government which would protect the Sanathana Dharma as well as Hindu religion.
“The Acharyas (heads of various Hindu Mutts) are shocked at the spate of murders of the leaders of Hindu organisations including that of V Ramesh, the BJP’s Tamil Nadu secretary. Over the last two years, we saw 12 Hindu leaders being massacred in Tamil Nadu. Some prominent leaders like H Raja came under attack and had narrow escape. The Acharyas, who had never interfered in politics in the past are upset that Hindus are being selectively targeted. You can expect a call from the Acharya Sabha soon,” Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy told The Pioneer. He said the Acharya Sabha is equally concerned about the multi-billion dollar scams and scandals involving top honchos of the Government.
Swamy is also the convener of the legal cell of the Acharya Dharma Sabha and has been authorised by the Mutt heads to fight the Ram Janmabhoomi case, the Ram Sethu case and the issue of Government control of temples. Following a request by Swamy, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Sunday asked the Tamil Nadu police to constitute a Special Investigation Division to probe Friday’s gruesome murder of Ramesh. The SIT would also probe the July 1 murder of Vellaiyappan, the Hindu Front leader at Velloor.
The Janata Party president thanked Jayalalithaa for her prompt action asking the Director General of Police to probe the murders of Ramesh and Vellaiyappan. He also asked the Chief Minister to initiate legal action against Ceeman Francis, for his pro-lTTE speeches and campaigns.
Another top adviser to Swamy Dayanand Saraswthi, the convener of the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha, also confirmed to this newspaper that the Mutt heads would soon issue a statement asking the Hindus to identify and isolate the enemies of the nation and its culture. Till date, either the Acharya Dharma Sabha or the Hindu monks have never made any comments or instructions to the followers though the same could not be said about other religious heads.
“Whenever elections take place, Christian and Muslim religious heads issue statements asking their followers to vote for candidates sponsored either by the Church or the Mosque,” said Arjun Sampath, leader of the Hindu Front. He pointed out that though the Hindu leaders are getting killed in Tamil Nadu, the DMK is yet to express grief over the murders.
The recent attacks on Hindu leaders in western Tamil Nadu saw two prominent Mutt heads, Swamy Kumara Guruparar (Koumara Mutt) and Swamy Marudachala Adikalar (Perur Elayapattam) coming out in the open expressing solidarity with the victims. Three districts in the region observed a day’s bundh with the blessings of these Mutt Heads.
Meanwhile Monday will see the Hindu organisations taking to the streets all over the State to protest the murder of Ramesh, a chartered accountant by profession. “We do not want to cause any inconvenience to the common man. But there is a limit beyond which we may not be able to suffer. The dawn to dusk general strike is being organised to bring to the attention of the people the sufferings of the Hindus,” said l Ganeshan, former BJP State chief.
