Russian envoy's daily life part of memorial museum

A piano, a pack of cigarette, Brut cologne splash, a bottle of Russian Vodka, two pairs of tweed coats — all of these that were once former Russian ambassador Alexander M Kadakin's part of daily life are now part of his Memorial Museum that the Russian Embassy has created for him. The Museum was inaugurated on Friday on the occasion of Russian Diplomatist Day.

Each year on this day, Kadakin used to host a friendly soiree at the Embassy, having selected guests from Ministry of External Affairs, former Indian ambassadors to Russia and Ambassadors of the CIS countries. The same set of people had gathered once again, but the only one missing was Kadakin.

Joint Secretary in Ministry of External Affairs, GV Sriniwas, who handles Russia and attended Kadakin's funeral in Russia, said the Ambassador's contributions were immense and have provided India-Russia relations a solid foundation.
