Rupani to celebrate Diwali with jawans

Continuing his mentor and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tradition, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will celebrate Diwali with jawans at Koteshwar in bordering Kutch district.

The tradition to celebrate Diwali festivities with border security force jawans was set by Modi when he was Gujarat Chief Minister for 13 long years. This is the second consecutive year that Rupani is going to celebrate Diwali festival with jawans.

The Chief Minister is celebrating the festival with jawans to give them homely and family feelings as they are posted far away from their family and near and dear ones. During the celebration, Rupani will offer sweets to jawans and will also interact with them.

The Chief Minister will arrive at coastal Koteshwar area on Thursday morning and spend whole day with the BSF guards there. Rupani had spent last year’s Diwali with jawans at Nada Bet border in Banaskantha district which share international border with Sindh province of Pakistan. He was accompanied by his wife Anjali.

Meanwhile CM Rupani on Wednesday, on the eve of Diwali extended his Diwali and Vikram Samvat’s New Year greetings (Gujarati New Year) to 6.50 crore people of Gujarat. In his message Rupani wished that the New Year for all citizens be lighted up with dreams fulfilled, strengthening the social equanimity, contributing to development of Gujarat in all the 10 directions, ensuring Mother India becomes Global Guru.

It is worth mentioning that as per Gujarati Hindu calendar, Diwali is the last day of the year.
