'RSS trying to foment communal tension in UP'

Sparks have started flying over holding of the 10-day conclave of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) that began here on Monday with ruling Samajwadi Party claiming that through this meet the RSS is trying to foment communal trouble in the State while BJP dares Government to ban this meet.

Samajwadi Party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhry said that in this RSS meet plans would be chalked out as how to vitiate the communal peace of the state. “The RSS activists are expert in carrying out a whisper campaign. In their Pratinidhi Karyakari meeting they will come up with a new formula to create friction among the two sections of the society,” Chaudhry told The Pioneer on Tuesday.

He said what happened in ‘love jehad’ case is now an open secret. “It has been proved beyond doubt whole case was orchestrated by BJP and RSS with bye-election in mind. The BJP leaders created so much trouble in western UP for many days throwing normal life haywire, But now truth has come to the fore,” he said.

“In this meet the RSS can come up with a new formula and can hold the State at ransom for days together,” he said and added such meetings should be banned.

The BJP on the other hand has dared the Samajwadi Party Government to ban this meet. “This is one of most irresponsible statement from the spokesman of the ruling party who also happens to be a Cabinet Minister in Akhilesh Yadav Government. If the Government has information that through this RSS meet attempt would be made to destroy communal peace it should take action,” BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said.

He said RSS is a nationalist organisation that works for welfare of all sections of the society. At the time of distress it is RSS which is first to extend helping hand. The party which calls RSS communal is itself communal, Pathak said.

“If the Government bans RSS meet, the BJP will take all constitutional recourse to teach Samajwadi Party a lesson,” he said. Meanwhile, workers from all over the country have assembled for the RSS conclave. RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat and karyavak Bhaiyya Ji Joshi, took a meeting of the RSS workers to chalk out agenda for the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Pratinidhi Mandal meeting to be held on October 17 and 18.

The conclave is being held at the RSS headquarters here at the Niralanagar.

The meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal- the highest policy formulation body of the RSS-takes place once a year. The Uttar Pradesh capital will host the event after many years. The conclave, which will continue till October 23, the festival of lights Diwali, would witness presence of senior RSS

functionaries.
