Senior Congress leader and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad accused Rastriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) of spreading “propaganda” that UPA Government was a failure and alleged that the outfit — in a similar drive in 1977 — “misled” Muslims over “forced vasectomy” which led to the party’s defeat.
“RSS had spread a canard of forced vasectomy before lS polls in 1977, which was totally fabricated well planned move of communal forces to defame the Indira Gandhi-led Congress Government and they also succeeded as Muslims went against us. Similarly this time, a propaganda is being spread by the same forces and in a more organised manner terming not just UPA Government but entire Congress-led rule as a total failure,” Azad told reporters here.
