RSS ideologue for Rajini-BJP alliance in TN

Though matinee idol Rajnikanth is yet to announce the name of his political party and its ideology, he has been advised by Tamil Nadu’s leading political commentator to have an electoral alliance with the BJP.

“An alliance between Rajnikanth and Narendra Modi is the only option to save Tamil Nadu from the five decade long Dravidian rule. An alliance between Rajnikanth and BJP is the need of the hour to pull Tamil Nadu out of the quagmire created by the two Dravidian parties,” said S Gurumurthy, editor, columnist and leading RSS ideologue.

Addressing a jam-packed Madras Music Academy auditorium as part of the anniversary celebrations of Thuglaq, Tamil Nadu’s numero uno political weekly, Gurumurthy, a chartered accountant-turned-academic-turned-chief editor told the audience that Rajinikanth has the capability to mobilize the people of Tamil Nadu and elevate it to the status of a developed State. “Under the Dravidian rule which began in 1967 , the State has taken a beating and the economy is in ruins. Corruption is the order of the day in Tamil Nadu, a State which gave birth to some of the leading lights of the Freedom Struggle,” said Gurumurthy.

He was all praise for the “spiritual politics” announced by Rajinikanth on December 31, 2017. “Spiritual politics being propagated by Rajinikanth is not Hindutwa politics. It is applicable to all religions. It is the politics of integrity, honesty and selfless service to the society,” said Gurumurthy.

Explaining the prevailing political landscape in Tamil Nadu, Gurumurthy said a majority of the population in the State wanted a change in the system. “The AIADMK could grow as a political entity because people in Tamil Nadu felt the need of an alternative to the DMK. That’s why in the Dindigul lok Sabha by-election in 1972 , the AIADMK emerged victorious by polling more than 50 per cent of the votes. It was the anti-DMK votes which helped AIADMK to establish itself as a political entity,” pointed out Gurumurthy.

He said that the DMK and the AIADMK got degenerated and corrupt because of  dynasty politics. “Rajinikanth is a leader who could offer a corruption-free and dynasty-free politics. He is the changing agent and catalyst Tamil Nadu was waiting for. I can tell with authority that Rajinikanth would never deviate from the path of spiritualism and truth,” said Gurumurthy.

The Tuglaq anniversary meeting is the event in Tamil Nadu which sets the political agenda for the State. It was during the 2008 Tuglaq anniversary meeting that the then chief editor late Cho Ramaswamy proposed the name Ministerial candidate of the BJP.
