RSS has opened shop of deshbhakti: RaGa

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Monday indirectly blamed the RSS and the BJP for the recent suicide of Dalit student Rohit Vemula and police action against JNU students.

“Friends, I have gone to Hyderabad a few days ago. A Dalit student Rohit Vemula had committed suicide there. He did nothing wrong. He only said whatever he had in his hearts and whatever he has to say. The Ministers of the Government of India ordered the university that he is a traitor and so he must be banned from the university, forcing him to commit suicide,” said Gandhi.

“In IITs, the youth stood up and tell about the Dalits, Government of India says he is a traitor. The president of JNU students’ union gave a good speech — he spoke about poor people, weak people, progress, Adivasis and development etc. What the Government of India says—it terms them a traitors. So wherever the youth goes against or speaks against the ideologies of the RSS and the BJP, they term them as traitors. It seems the RSS has opened the shop of deshbhakti, only they can say who is a patriot and a traitor. Friends, we must see who are these people (read BJP and RSS). They are the people who shot three bullets to Mahatma Gandhiji. These are the people who bowed their heads to the British.

Now they tell us to take licence of DeshbhaktiIJ” said the AICC leader.

“But this is not fair. I want to tell them that as much they will pressurise the youth, more youth will stand up against them and challenge them,” he said.

“What is the meaning of independence if the RSS can take away the voice of the youth. Friends, they have only one agenda—they want power,” he said.
