The dispute over meat shops in Sarai Sultani in Aligarh, took communal colour after people from two communities confronted and pelted stones at each other. Three people have been injured in the incidence.
The market was closed due to panic. The accused fled the spot after the police came. People of a community raised slogans and demanded action against the accused.
In protest against the incident, the workers sat on a dharna and demanded removal of meat shops from the road and stringent action against the accused. The matter calmed down when IG Deepak Kumar, DM Indravikram Singh and SSP Kalanidhi Naithani arrived the place and complaints were lodged.
