The Election Commission on Wednesday imparted training to the Returning Officers (ROs) for counting of electronically transmitted postal ballots.
Additional Chief Returning Officer of UP, PK Pandey said the ROs of Mahsi, Orai, Faizabad and Agra conducted the training programme for counting of postal ballots under electronically transmitted postal ballot system (ETPBS).
Pandey said the ETPBS was first started in Pudduchery in 2016 and as a pilot project this was being implemented in UP. He said that a large number of postal ballots under ETPBS have been received across the state.
Meanwhile, the EC has ordered repoll in one polling booth of Savayajpur Assembly segment of Hardoi. The repoll will be held on March 8, along with the seventh and last phase of Assembly election.
