Actress-turned-BJP MP Roopa Ganguly on Friday suffered a haematoma of brain, the sources in the private hospital where she was quickly admitted said adding she was suffering problem with her eyesight.
A statement from the hospital where she was currently admitted said, “BJP MP Roopa Ganguly is admitted due to small haematoma in brain. She is absolutely stable and under observation.”
Haematoma in layman’s language is kind of stroke which can be critical if not attended to. It means a clot in the brain, doctors said. State BJP source, however, rejected claims that she was “critically ill,” while sources close to her said she was suffering from high blood pressure and headache adding she even suffered bleeding from nose.
“She is under observation and doctors are treating him,” State BJP leader JP Majumdar said. Other party members wondered whether the blood clot was a result of an injury she suffered during a political scuffle in May this year.
