RlD expels two 'anti-party' MPs

Rashtriya lok Dal president Ajit Singh on Friday suspended two of his party MPs Devender Nagpal (Amroha) and Sarika Singh Baghel (Hathras) for indulging in anti-party activities.

Giving the two renegade MPs a week’s time to explain their position, RlD president said the party would initiate action against them and seek their disqualification from the lok Sabha also under anti-defection law if they did not clear their stand within.

“According to media reports, the two MPs have defected to the Samajwadi Party. They have repeatedly been making disp-araging remarks about the party and also campaigning against the RlD. Baghel has already been declared a SP candidate from Agra lok Sabha constituency,” an RlD Press release stated.

In a letter sent to the MPs, Singh said that the duo have repeatedly been publicly making anti-party statements which have been widely reported in the media. They have been hobnobbing with another political outfit which is against the party discipline.
