Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh (RKM), a consortium of 62 leading national farmer organisations is on indefinite strike at Jantar Mantar where after a rally  around 1,500 farmers courted arrest at the Parliament Street police station.

Binod Pandey of RKM said that one month has been passed of killing of six farmers in Mandsaur but neither FIRs was lodged nor report put up in public domain.

To manifest themselves RKM is contemplating a protest March in the form of candle march at Jantar Mantar.

He clarified  that his organization has nothing to do with a march organised by few people with inherent political interest from Mandsaur to Champaran in Bihar.

He further added that "acute agricultural distress witnessed is due to the manifestation  of a deep seated infirmity  arising from inadequate public investment and insufficient public action by various Government and these set of self-acclaimed farmer leaders who use them as political weapon.

Guranam Singh, president BKU who is  another core committee member from Haryana, Kurushetra  says " the unfinished agenda of various Government ,the technology fatigue and inadequate institutional credit  added with non-remunerative marketing opportunities of Farm produce is the real culprit".

The farmers also demanded speedy probe by NHRC on the Mandsaur killing.
