RJD chief lashes out at Ram Kripal for joining BJP

While campaigning for his daughter Misa Bharti, who is RJD’s party candidate from Patliputra constituency, party chief lalu Prasad on Thursday hit out at his former party leader and close aide Ram Kripal Yadav, accusing him of compromising with communal forces. The long time lalu loyalist Ram Kripal recently joined the BJP to become the party candidate from Patliputra seat.

“Ram Kripal was with me for a long time and I handed over significant party affairs to him but now forgetting all those things he has taken refuge in communal forces now. People will not forget this,” said lalu Prasad while campaigning for his daughter Misa Bharti at Bikram.

He also added that since Ram Kripal has compromised with the philosophy of social justice, and joined the bandwagon of the ones we have been fighting with all along, he will not flourish in the coming poll.

It was for the first time, after Ram Kripal Yadav joined the BJP, that lalu Prasad had publicly charged against him during the poll campaign. His daughter Misa Bharti too attacked  chacha Ram Kripal for showing disrespect to her.

“He showed disrespect to me by not meeting when I went to his residence in New Delhi to give up my seat for him. I hope the people of Pataliputra will give him a befitting reply for this”, she said addressing the meeting with her father lalu Prasad on the dais.

The public meeting was later turned into a road show at Bihta.

With Ram Kripal Yadav as a BJP candidate and Misa Bharti against each other the battle for the Yadav dominated Patliputra seat has become one of the biggest poll battle of the State. The JD(U) has preferred to retain its sitting MP Ranjan Prasad Yadav from the seat. Ranjan Yadav had defeated lalu Prasad in 2009 lok Sabha poll.

Patliputra will go to poll on April 17.
