After registering a fall in weekly new coronavirus cases, dropping to almost 38,000 on Monday, India registered a rise on Wednesday in cases with 46,253 fresh infections, taking the Covid-19 tally to 83,13,876. The death toll has spiked to  1,23,611 after 514 more fatalities were reported, as per the Ministry. The average daily Covid deaths have declined from 1,165 recorded during the Covid peak in mid-September to about 500 in the past week, the Ministry has said.
