Revolt brews against Kushwaha in Rashtriya lok Samata Party

Published on:

Rashtriya lok Samata Party of former JD(U) MP Upendra Prasad Kushwaha, which was floated barely over a month back to expose the alleged rampant corruption under the Nitish Kumar regime, witnessed the first sign of cracks on Friday when a prominent leader of the party, Satish Kumar sounded a bugle of revolt against Kushwaha.

Satish, a former MlA, has accused Kushwaha of being more “autocratic” than their main political adversary and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

He along with State party vice-president Rambali Singh Chandrawanshi have decided to convene a meeting of “neglected” leaders and workers on April 24 to decide their future course of action.

Satish told mediapersons in Patna that Upendra Kushwaha instead of fighting for the cause of Bihar had gone one step further in ignoring views of party leaders and workers and nobody should expect any change in the present situation if Kushwaha did not mend his ways immediately.

“We will take the battle against Kushwaha to its logical conclusion,” he remarked.

Former MlA Sudhanshu Shekhar Bhaskar was also among the prominent party leaders who have expressed their dissatisfaction with Kushwaha for taking “unilateral” decisions on various matters.

Kushwaha had floated Rashtriya lok Samata Party on March 3 after quitting his JD(U) Rajya Sabha membership.

Kushwaha has repeatedly accused the Bihar Chief Minister of not accommodating sentiments of the JD(U) leaders and workers while discharging his duties, an allegation which is now leveled against him also.

Kushwaha, however, feigned ignorance when he was asked to comment on the alleged growing discontentment among a section of party leaders.

“I have no idea what is really happening, I am away from Patna,” he stated.

Satish alleged that Kushwaha did not hold any consultation with him and several other party leaders in the appointment of the State party presidents, State party office-bearers, party presidents in 24 districts and heads of seven different cells of the party.

Former MP Arun Kumar is the State Rashtriya lok Samata Party president and commands good influence in the party, sources added.
