Resignation rumours to defame me: Guj Dy CM

Following series of messages regarding his resignation from the post of Deputy Chief Minister and even departure from BJP went viral on social media platforms over the past few days, Nitin Patel literally forced to clarify his stand on Friday saying that the messages on social media are nothing but a planned conspiracy against him to tarnish his image.

“I was with BJP, I am with BJP and I will remain with BJP,” said the Deputy CM adding that he has not only been a BJP worker since its inception but he was also associated with Jan Sangh and elected as member of Kadi town’s municipality in the year 1977.

Patel went on to say that some people were trying to tarnish his image by spreading such rumour deliberately. On his official Tweeter handle he also requested his party workers, supporters, well-wishers and people of Gujarat not to believe such rumours.

Apart from plethora of posts on social media about Patel’s departure from BJP as the party’s top leadership asked him to resign from the Vijay Rupani’s Council of Ministers, a poster in which picture of Nitin Patel has been shown besides pro-quota Patidar leader Hardik Patel. The controversial poster that has gone viral on social media claimed that Nitin Patel would openly support Hardik and participate in an event organised by him on Saturday. Hardik has invited all the Patidar MlAs across the party line to attend ‘Patidar Mahapanchayat’ to support quota agitation on May 26, 2018.

On this poster 62-year-old Patel said that he had nothing to do with Hardik who tried to defeat BJP in the 2017 assembly polls and supported Congress party. He also said that if such messages on social media would not stop he will take legal action against those who are involved in such false propaganda.

On the other hand Hardik Patel said that Nitinbhai was ignored in BJP and he would be welcome to join the pro-quota agitation any point of time. “There is nothing wrong to be with the community. let Nitinbhai come with us, he would again get ministerial berth,” said Hardik while talking to reporters.

Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Chavda also jumped into controversy saying that despite Nitinbhai gave his whole life to BJP, the party failed to give him appropriate reward to him.
