Renounce Bollywood celebrities with Pak, ISI links: Baijayant Panda

Published on:

BJP’s national vice president and spokesperson Baijayant Panda took to Twitter on Wednesday to allege links between some Bollywood stars with “certain Pakistanis & NRIs with undeniable track record encouraging violence in J&K”.

The former Member of Parliament from Odisha, however, did not give away any name.

The BJP leader urged ‘patriotric Bollywoodies’ to renounce celebrities who have a connection with some Pakistanis and ISI elements.

Panda tweeted that he came across “shocking threads documenting personal & business links of some Bollywood personalities with certain Pakistanis & NRIs with undeniable track record encouraging violence in J&K, who have verifiable links to ISI & Pak army. I urge patriotic Bollywoodies to renounce them”.

While Bollywood's links to the underworld has often been talked about, of late, it is in the news for a hotly debated topic of nepotism leading to factions in the film fraternity taking on each other.

The circumstances leading  to the death of film actor  Sushant Singh Rajput has recently triggered a debate over “insiders versus outsiders” in  Bollywood with a suggestion that a clique is operating in a certain way to dole out favours to the actors who toe its line.  There is a demand for a CBI probe into the alleged “suicide” of Rajput, who hailed from Bihar.
