Remove UPA Guvs: Sushil Modi urges Union Govt

Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday urged the Central Government to remove the Bihar Governor along with other State Governors appointed by previous UPA Government. Modi also mocked at Bihar Chief Minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi’s comment that we should all move on from calling the previous RJD regime as ‘jungle raj’.

“The NDA Government should seek resignations of State Governors appointed by its predecessor and remove them on the basis of merits citing precedents and also in the light of the Supreme Court judgment on the matter,” said Modi. While calling Bihar Governor DY Patil as ‘puppet’ of the ruling JD(U), Modi sought his removal also for acting in a partisan manner.

“He (the Bihar Governor) appointed five RJD and BJP MlAs as MlCs from his discretionary quota within two days of these MlAs quitting their Assembly seats to help reduce strength of the Assembly and enable the Manjhi Government win trust vote last month,” charged the BJP leader. While addressing media on the sideline of his weekly ‘janata durbar’ Sushil Modi further said that Patil had appointed Manjhi as the CM without ascertaining whether he was elected as the leader of the JD(U) legislature Party after Nitish Kumar quit his post taking moral responsibility for the ruling party’s debacle in the lok Sabha elections.

“Yes, I demand that he too should be removed along with other State Governors working in a partisan manner and bringing disrepute to the sanctity of their constitutional positions,” said Modi.
