Noida Police on Friday arrested relatives of two noted businessmen for allegedly making extortion calls by sending bullets with extortion letter on the name of Dujana gang. Police have claimed that the arrested relatives have earlier made calls to the victims demanding `15 lakh and `10 lakh respectively and later sent bullets threatening to kill if demands were not met.

Police said that Sanjeev Mittal, Shamshad and another one, all three are Dadri-based businessmen, had lodged complaint of extortion against associates of Anil Dujana, who is currently lodged in Banda jail. The traders, in their complaint, had said that they were being called since few weeks for money and after refusing to accept the demand, letters and bullets were sent by the gang members.

Following the threat, the traders of the area had staged protest demanding crack down on those involved in extortion-murder in the region. Mittal, a resident of Dadri, is involved in retail business while Shamshad, who also hails from the same area, is in garment business.

Taking the matter seriously, police started investigation and found hands of relatives of the victims in extortions. On Friday morning, police arrested Rajesh Mittal, cousin of Sanjeev Mittal and Wasil, brother-in-law of Shamshad from various locations of Dadri area.

Police claimed that during preliminary investigation, the accused have accepted their involvement in crime. Police claimed that they used name of Dujana gang to create fear and to save them selves from police action.

“We have arrested two persons in this regard and are investigating the matter. We are searching their other accomplices so we could know that whether they have connections with Anil Dujana and his gang members,” said Anurag Singh, Circle Officer (CO) of Dadri.
