Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva on Saturday said it is regrettable to see the senior most Minister of Arvind Kejriwal Government Atishi denying ministerial responsibility of Social Welfare Department of Delhi Government.
Sachdeva said Atishi is denying responsibility as she does not want to take moral, administrative and legal responsibility for the deaths at Asha Kiran Home.
It is shameful that Atishi, who is not only the Social Welfare Minister but also the senior most Minister of the Delhi Government, has not even found it important to visit the Asha Kiran Home to see the inhumane conditions prevailing there, he claimed.
Sachdeva said BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia visited the Asha Kiran Home, he has evidence showing the pathetic conditions at Asha Kiran Home, we will submit it in magesterial inquiry and we challenge Atishi to see the evidence and reply.
Delhi BJP President said as per the gazette notification dated 14 August 2023 Atishi stands allocated 14 Departments by name and along with the name of her 14th Department it is mentioned therein “Vigilance and all other departments not specifically allotted to any other Minister.”
Moreover a cabinet is supposed to work on collective basis and if someone allocated a portfolio has resigned or on leave other Ministers are supposed to look after the department which has no Minister and here by virtue of the spirit of the 14th August 2023 notification Atishi is supposed to be holding the charge of both Social Welfare Department & S.C. / S.T. Welfare Department which became Minister less after Rajkumar Anand’s resignation.
Sachdeva said Atishi should take moral responsibility of the Asha Kiran Home’s unfortunate deaths and appologise to Delhiites.
